Your partner will not come to therapy. Or maybe you are not sure the relationship is worth fighting for yet. You learn your half of the pattern. You change your response. The relationship changes because you did.

You have been handling things your whole life. You are good at it. What you are less good at is the part where you admit that handling things has a cost, and that cost has been accumulating for years. Men come to therapy here when they are ready to stop managing and start actually working through what is underneath.

You are managing a career, a household, relationships, expectations, and the quiet sense that none of it is quite adding up to what you thought it would. The exhaustion is real. So is the feeling that you should not complain about a life that looks, from the outside, like exactly what you wanted.

You are here because the same argument keeps happening, or you have grown distant without knowing exactly when or how, or something happened that broke trust and you are not sure if you can get back from it. Let’s get you both in the same direction and build something different together.

Hi, I'm Sabita

Therapist in Chicago for Individuals, Couples and Relationships

For more than two decades, my work has been grounded in one belief: healing begins with connection. Our relationships shape our identity, meaning, and sense of belonging, and when they feel strained or burdened by the past, our inner world often feels the same. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I approach healing through a relational lens, honoring the stories and patterns that shape us.

I developed Relational Narrative Imaging Therapy as a gentle, creative way to help you see and reshape those relational stories. Together, we explore the connections and generational narratives influencing your life, creating space for clarity, agency, and renewal—within yourself and the relationships that matter most.

There comes a moment when holding it all together stops working.

Life has become a blur of responsibilities, work deadlines, relationship tensions, caring for kids and aging parents, all while trying to figure out who you are in the middle of it all. There comes that moment when ignoring the pain, numbing yourself, or pretending you’re fine becomes too exhausting to keep up. You’re here because you want relief. You want clarity. You want connection. You want your life to make sense again.

What if the patterns you're stuck in aren't entirely yours to begin with?

The Quiet Crisis of Men’s Identity: Navigating Purpose, Connection, and Family

You're exhausted from holding it all together. You know something needs to change, but you're not sure where to start.

You're not alone. I've walked this path with thousands.

Therapy isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s your boldest act of agency. As an immigrant myself (M.Sc. from University of Calcutta, advanced degrees from University of Florida), I know the emotional tug-of-war: building a vibrant life in Illinois while honoring roots that pull you back. That “caught between two homes” sadness? The overwhelm of sandwich-generation duties, juggling work, kids, and aging parents? I’ve helped clients like you transform it into purpose.

Individual Therapy

Sabita Nandy is a wonderful therapist. When I first started looking for a therapist, I wanted someone who was a good listener and who would give me sound and honest counseling. Boy did I hit the jackpot when I found Sabita.

Sabita, you are the one person who helped make me whole. You helped me achieve my dream of living a better life. You have no idea of how indebted I feel to you. You are My Shero!

D.G

My husband and I began seeing Sabita for marriage counseling. We were both so pleased with her insightfulness and ability to make real connections that we both chose to begin seeing her for individual counseling. We have both been seeing Sabita.

J.S

Sabita worked with us for a year and a half to resolve some pretty major problems in our first few years of marriage. I would probably not still be married if it wasn’t for her.

A.E

I was very skeptical about therapy and counseling. I am happy to say that my skepticism was wrong. Sabita was proactive, courteous, informative and extremely comforting.

K.L.D

The quality I enjoy most about Sabita is that she doesn’t solve your problems for you. Instead, she helped me see how I already had the skills to confront them.

A.A

When coping with the loss of my mother and a series of family life changes, Sabita was right there to help me deal with these unexpected challenges. Sabita is more than a therapist she is a miracle worker.

Yes! I accept most major insurance plans. I also offer self-pay options for those who prefer to use out-of-network benefits or pay directly.

Absolutely. I provide secure online therapy for clients throughout Illinois, in addition to in-person sessions at my offices in Hyde Park and Downtown Chicago.

Most clients find meaningful resolution within six months. However, everyone’s journey is unique, and we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.
